Nothing, nothing at all!
As promised the recipe for a great Buffalo Chicken Dip is as follows!!!
When you cross some hot sauce with some chunks of chicken along with a few other things you get a Great Dip that is always a winner on Game Day!
The original recipe makes about 4 cups so you can do the math to make larger quantities (you’re probably gonna need it!)
Buffalo Chicken Dip Ingredients
2 (10 oz.) cans of chunked chicken, drained
2 (8 oz) packages cream cheese softened
1 cup Ranch dressing
3/4 cup pepper sauce ( I used Franks Red Hot because that’s what my daughter Sarah told me to buy! And I will just tell you here that I use a whole cup!)
1 1/2 cup shredded cheddar cheese ( I used a cheddar and Colby blend…just because)
Now let’s get this party started!!!
Preheat the oven to 350 degrees F
Next stir the cream cheese in an appropriate size baking dish or even a 9 in. Deep dish pie plate. Use a fork here to get it to a smooth consistency. Add the Ranch dressing and the hot sauce and 1 cup of the cheese, stirring until well combined. Add the chicken chunks and give it a final mix. Top with remaining 1/2 cup of cheese.
Get that stuff in the oven and let it bake until the mixture is hot and bubbly just like my wife!!!!!About 20 minutes.
Remove from oven…stir before you serve!
I’m not gonna tell ya how to serve it but some suggestions are with crackers, tortilla chips, celery sticks, or my favorite Frito lay corn chip scoops.
Certainly there are variations to this recipe…one I prefer is to use Blue Cheese dressing and some chunks of Blue Cheese chunks in place of the Ranch Dressing and Cheddar cheese. My kids are not huge fans of Blue Cheese at this point in their lives, but that will all change I know it will!!! But for now, I aim to please!!!
Try it and as always let me know what you think…feel free to add any suggestions you may have… It’s all about sharing the love!
Shout out to Jana Kirkland of Headland Alabama whose Buffalo Chicken Dip was the first I ever tasted and was sold on it immediately! And another shout out to my daughter Sarah and her good friend Hannah Williams the makers of this great dip when I just don’t feel like it!
